Registration opens on the newly expanded R8C/Xperience Reunion
August 12-14, 2010

2The R8C/Xperience Reunion is expanding to meet the interests of the 7000+ participants scattered from coast to coast.   Formerly a bi-annual on-site Museum event, it has been expanded to an annual event targeting the varied interests of the participants.  Keeping the every other year format in place, future Reunions in even numbered years will continue to be centered on the Museum and local activities.  Overlaying this format will be specialized tours held during odd-numbered years in areas around the country meeting the needs and wishes of our more distant participants.   The on-site events will remain in the late September – early October time period while the Tour events will be timed appropriately for their location.
For the 2010 transition year we have the overlay of both types of events and participants can choose their preference.  Careful joint planning by both the Delivery and Events Departments has resulted in an event that reaches across a broad spectrum of interests.  Whether you are a road warrior that likes to get out and about, or you are the kind that likes to stay in one area, our R8C Reunion offers something for everyone.  This year’s event offers the choice of partaking in a road tour to Indiana or focusing your activities at the Museum.
Both On-Site and Road tour participants have the option to attend seminars at the Museum on Thursday, August 12 before the Touring participants start on their journey the following day.  Thursday afternoon the Tour participants meet to get maps, route instructions and a review of the travel plans. The road tour travels to Indiana with the first stop lunch at the famous Schnitzelbank Restaurant followed by a guided tour of Jasper Engines and Transmissions.  A short drive from there will take us to Dr. Ted’s Musical Marvels museum.   The day wraps with arrival at the incredible 5-star West Baden Hotel with the nearby French Lick with its resort and casino.  Saturday’s itinerary includes a tour of scenic Nashville Indiana, a drive through French Lick, Indiana including Railway Museum tour and Train Ride wrapping up with a banquet at the hotel.  The return trip to Bowling Green features an optional stop at the famous Moonlite BBQ in Owensboro.
Registration for both the on-site and Road Tour events is the same with the Road Tour total package price $955 for two people. Those choosing to gather in Bowling Green have the joint event on Thursday followed by two days of varied activities which include our popular Makers Mark Road Tour, a BBQ lunch Road Tour, a poker run, golf cart autocross and banquet in addition to Thursday’s selection of seminars.

National Corvette Museum Raffles

The National Corvette Museum conducts a series of raffles each year as a way to raise funding for the day to day operations of the Museum. “Our raffle fundraisers are a tremendous help to the Museum and a large part of our planning and daily operation funds,” states NCM Executive Director, Wendell Strode. "We appreciate the help of everyone who helps us by purchasing and selling tickets." All raffle winners will also enjoy the benefits and excitement of taking delivery of their new Corvette at the Museum as part of the “R8C Museum Delivery” experience. A VIP tour of the Museum and Corvette Assembly Plant, one-year individual membership to the Museum, hands-on training/instruction by a NCM delivery team member, program decal and a wall plaque are all part of the Museum Delivery experience that is available exclusively through the Museum. R8C deliveries are viewed world-wide via the Museum’s webcams.

2010 NCM 16th Anniversary Celebration and
Hall of Fame Induction
September 2-4, 2010

Labor Day weekend marks the Museum’s annual anniversary event as well as Hall of Fame inductions and recognition of long term Museum members.  For 2010 we welcome participants to the 16th Anniversary celebration and the induction of 3 new members to the Corvette Hall of Fame.
This year’s Labor Day Celebration offers a great opportunity to hang out with other ‘Vette lovers and partake in some of the Museum’s favorite event activities as well as new ones.  Several Road Tours to popular attractions in Kentucky and Tennessee are on the books – including the Bourbon and Coke Tour, Bluegrass and BBQ Tour and General Jackson Showboat Tour, plus a new free road tour and photo op.
Adding to the list of fun activities like the Golf Cart Autocross, there is the new ZR1 Time Trial which features timed racing of an RC Corvette ZR1 on a mini-version of Lime Rock Park.  Use the NCM’s ZR1 or bring your own RC Corvette (1/12 scale).    Autocross, poker runs and live auction add to the fun.
Seminars dot the agenda including a new Ladies’ Garage Party seminar and ones featuring Hall of Fame inductees and their sponsors.  The Hall of Fame induction ceremony on Friday evening is the marquee activity of this event so you want to be sure to register for that banquet being held in the NCM Conference Center for the first time.  Our 10, 15 and 20 year members will be recognized, Ambassadors will be treated to a breakfast, our open membership meeting will be held and our Lifetime Members will enjoy a special VIP reception on Thursday evening, advance registration required. Our featured display celebrates the 25th and 50th anniversary model years, 1985 and 1960.  Contact events@corvettemuseum.org to enter your car.
Don’t miss our Silent and Live Auctions for a chance to pick-up some great items, many one-of-a-kind, and on Friday and Saturday women should be sure to stop into our Ladies’ Oasis located on-site.  We hope to see you Labor Day Weekend!
